As usual I forgot to take any pictures so this was taken at the end of the evening.

I can say that the new group was a huge success with such a super mix of people who I feel sure are going to work really well together. Thirteen attended, some couldn’t make it so will come next month on the 29th November at 6.30

The venue was brilliant as we had the front part to ourselves so it was easy for people to see where we were. Some of us stayed till gone ten chatting and getting to know one another.  I would like to say thank you to the owner Hasan for letting us use his restaurant for our meetings.

Our first author talk in January will be one of our own best-selling authors from Folkestone, Charlie Gallagher who is also a police detective. I will get the next 12 months talks lined up hopefully in the next few days. We will have two meetings a month one for us as members and the other for our guests to give a talk.

Feedback on our work will be the main focus we have said about 500 words so everyone gets to read their master pieces each month if they would like to. We are setting up a private Facebook group for members so we can share on there with each other as well during the month. Nothing is set in stone as I feel things will change as we evolve to the different needs of the group. Considering it was a first meeting I was extremely pleased with the way it went.

We have a rough agenda for the next meeting so we can get straight down to business.

We have a couple of script writers so  I am sure they will enjoy Julie Wassmer’s author talk next Spring as she worked on Eastenders for years, so that will be something good to look forward to.

In March we have the very talented Lisa Cutts talking about crime writing, Lisa is another police detective at Folkestone. I think these writers with the police jobs have the edge as their crime stories are really very good, I guess because they know exactly what happens so everything is accurate. Mind you if they get their stories from crimes they investigate it’s a very bad world we live in! I think they may exaggerate a few points, well I hope they do or I’m moving lol.
