The retelling of the biblical story of Joseph and his eleven brothers was presented in fabulous Technicolor at Tuesday’s opening night of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Folkestone’s Leas Cliff Hall.

With Jaymi Hensley (of Union J ) playing the lead role as Joseph and Trina Hill as Narrator, there was dancing in the aisles and even an appearance by Elvis.

Directed by Bill Kenwright, this modern version brings a fresh edge to this superb musical. With music written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Lyrics by Tim Rice  the packed audience were on their feet and singing along by the end of the night.

Jaymi Hensley, brought the West End to Folkestone on Tuesday night and performed tremendously in his first major role in musical theatre. Joined by Trina Hill, Henry Metcalfe and Andrew Geater it was a wonderful evening with both sad and hilariously wonderful moments.

Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is the first major production to come to Folkestone and it is hoped that this is the start of a new trend of bringing more professional shows to our seaside theatre.

I would like to thank Tessa who went to watch this in my place as I had a previous engagement but did not want to let them down.

This is Tessa’s first go at blog writing and I think she did really well, I will have to send her on some more!
