Had a great afternoon out with the grandaughter Kara and her boy friend Dan over at Westwood Cross shopping center which is on the way to Ramsgate, Kent.  Great shopping with really good shops there so they got a couple of bits for a wedding they are attending soon and I did a bit of holiday shopping as it is getting near to me going to Spain with my friend Lynda.
Dan seems a nice bloke I told him I would be nice about him as he bought me some pink earphones for when I am on the plane.  He is the manager of a coffee shop in Folkestone where Kara met him, they make a lovely couple and it’s great to see her so happy after the grim couple of years she has had.  Her flat is very homely and always clean and tidy, she has settled in really well and loves her own space.
After a while shopping you really need a coffee and the closest place was Cafè Rouge none of us had ever been in one of these but we all really liked it as soon as we walked in.  Once seated and looking at the menu it was hard to decide what to have as just a coffee was not sounding so good now.  Drinks and the meals were ordered and we sat back taking in the ambiance of the place while we waited for our food.  The starters came pretty quick and I must say where really good, hot bread with the Camembert and the patè was so tasty, we all really enjoyed it.

At this point in writing I was going to slate the place but not now as I am going to say that it was the best customer service from the manager Rafik Yala that I have ever had in a resturant.  They obviously got our meals confused as the waitress changed halfway through so we had rather a long wait for our main meals, once it was pointed out to the manager he offered us drinks and olives, apologising and explaining that they had only opened yesterday!

We ate our meals then asked for the bill, Rafik adjusted the bill as we did not take him up on the offer of more drinks, he apologised again and gave us a discount leaflet for next time we are over that way.  Such a lovely man who I am sure will go a long way and make that a very good resturant once the staff settle in and they all get used to the way things are done there.  I would definitly go back in a few weeks as the choice of food was wonderful, would be even better if I did not drive as there was a cocktail list and champagne which I find very hard to resist.
A great day was had by all.
