BIRTHDAY TREAT FOR CORINNE
Looking out to the sea, set on the seafront with the statue of William Harvey you will find The Clifton hotel, I had never been in there before, I don’t suppose you do when you live in the town but wow I have been missing out. It is beautiful in there and in the process of being renovated slowly.
The first thing you see when you walk in is the Costa coffee counter, so you can just pop in there for your coffee fix in the morning.
Leading off into the bar area there are a mixture of sofas, comfy chairs and tables, we had a reserved table by the window so we could see the sea. The staff are so nice and bend over backwards to help and please you.
The bar has been moved to this area of the hotel which I thought was an excellent idea as most guests or even us locals do like a good view especially a sea view.
I loved the colours of the decor, the pictures even blended in so well and the curtains were divine.
The afternoon tea was served with just the right amount of time to get settled and have a sip of your coffee or tea.
Everything was delicious especially the dainty little petit four, which tasted even better than they looked and were unusual so even better. I loved the finger size egg sandwich. The only fault from the whole experience was the tiny rolls that had cream cheese and salmon on them, they were so hard, I think a soft roll or small cracker type would be much nicer.
It was Corinnes birthday a couple of weeks ago and due to events this was the first time we could get together and she had her hair and nails done before we went out, very glamorous, I felt under dressed lol.
This is a place to remember if you just want a quiet drink in lovely surroundings then head over to the sea front up on The Leas.
