Not a very good photograph, I also forgot to take any during the evening as it was all so reverting and informative. I think Julie is one of the best speakers we have had over the last few months. Mainly because she could talk about a wide variety of topics to do with her writing career.
Eastenders started the talk as Julie worked writing their scripts for many years, which put her in a good position to go on to do other writing opportunities.
Then came her memoir about how she found her adopted daughter, which happens entirely by accident and is a really happy story. You can read this in her book More than just coincidence.
Then of course comes her crime series about a private detective called Pearl who lives in Whitstable. Many local places are used in her books with her website at Julie Wassmer.com showing many photo’s of the places in her books so it brings it all alive in your head as you are reading.
Thank you Julie for coming to Folkestone and sharing so much with us, plus the little secret about one of her future books……Murder at The Grand! I have just had a thought, perhaps there could be a writing group (Write by the sea) taking place at the grand before the murder!
