These lunch dates seem to come round so quickly and I had to take a breath as I realised it is July and nearly August, the children break up soon for the summer and then it will be September and the countdown to Christmas! I need to stop thinking, I love the summer but we are due to have another sizzling weekend so it’s all good.

What a super summer it has been so far and expected to carry on, camping with the family is going to be so much fun during August. Some of the grandchildren are staying with me in the camper van, only one at a time though. I cannot wait until the twins are old enough to come along but I am sure they will want to come together.

This month we celebrated Lynda’s birthday, a very young 61 this year although the way she runs about you would think she was 41. We were very well-behaved yesterday and only had two bottles of wine, there was 8 of us as one was missing as not well. As usual the food was cooked just right with it all coming out together piping hot.

I appear to have lost a couple of pictures and no I have no idea where they have gone as I know I took pictures of all the mains. The desert was easy as only four of us had any and we all had the same, it is my favourite dessert. They are getting to know us all in The Blackbull, Hungry Horse in Folkestone and we found out some gossip that they are going to be closed for a couple of weeks as having a real huge refurbishment completed very soon.

We then went to my garden for tea and cake and a good old gossip, which was fun and involved a lot of laughing.

Lynda stayed over and we sat outside talking all evening with a couple of glasses of wine, putting the world to rights.

Talking about the world, what a lot of Trump haters there are in the UK, I was very shocked at how many have turned up for all the demonstrations all over the country. I would love to be a fly on the wall and hear what he says about all that but going by his other comments he has probably denied that it is anything to do with him!

I should have taken the peg bag off the line!

Love get togethers with the ladies. I do it also, especially now retired, it is easier to get us to meet. Looks like a lot of fun….we usually meet in a restaurant although one of my friends is doing a pool party next week.

What do you think?
