Well this was a surprise as it didn’t follow the course I was expecting but then I realised that this is what Amanda Prowse does best and that is to take you to the place in her books that makes you feel all the emotions and there are plenty in this latest book. I do not think anyone could imagine the deep sadness of losing a child until you have been there but Amanda does that here, this will bring tears one after the other until you come to the end.
Did I like it? I liked that you could feel the waves of sadness but I am not sure I am really liking a book full of feelings and sadness. The child is lost at the beginning and what follows are the feelings of the parents as they rebuild their lives which does not happen really until the end of the book. I think I expected more of a story and I have obviously been reading too many thrillers as I thought if the child got stolen would make a good story.
I do hope Amanda hasn’t lost her ideas and she comes back with a story with things that happen and not page after page of feelings.
