FOLKESTONE BOOK FESTIVAL EVENT
What a brilliant talk by Christina, I feel bad in saying that I had not seen or heard about her and will now watch Sky news to see what she has to say. Christina seems like a woman I would have liked to have been, a gutsy journalist not afraid to write what she thinks.
From being treated abominably by a news paper and let go, to suffering many illnesses, this brave women fought on and you really have to read the book to understand her fight that has really lasted all her life. Although she does seem in a good place now but her work is made up of bits of writing and appearances which some will realise is a worry as you never know if there is going to be enough coming in to buy the wine and crisps…A mention in the book that they help with almost anything and the friends you share them with.
I can understand her saying that she is still single as the right man never did come along although there is still hope and I really do hope that she gets her happy ever after as she really does deserve it. It is not easy finding a partner that can grow and change with you and I so admire the people who have done this and survived, as least it gives us single ones a bit of hope! lol
I asked her one question yesterday and that was.
“What made you get up in the morning when things were at there worse?”
He answer was mixed, she is a talker! But mainly it was that she didn’t want to miss anything, her Mum needed her and she needed her Mum and she just knew she had to keep going.
I am just waiting for the book to come and will review during January. It was a pleasure meeting this brave woman.
