SPONSORED BY FAVERSHAM LITERARY FESTIVAL AND HOSTED BY DOMINIC KING FROM BBC RADIO KENT
It’s no surprise to some of you loyal readers that I love Julie Wassmers books, we have some glorious places in Kent so when they are in a book it makes it all the better for me. I have always liked Whitstable as one of my close friends lives there so I am often down that way and it really is attracting the authors and why not its a wonderful town on the coast. Just right for writing all these best sellers.
The Guildhall in Faversham was a super venue for the book launch and they even had the flags out, I’m sure they must have been for Julie!
Graham did a wonderful job of helping Harbour books from Whitstable to sell a few copies and with Julie on hand to sign her books and pose for photos it made it all a very special day.
Faversham Literary Festival supplied the wine, which was nice but I have to mention the cupcakes, Oh My God they were delicious and how clever, they are made by a lovely local Whitstable lady.
With Dominic King hosting the proceedings today it all went off wonderfully and it was great to hear Julie read some of her new book, Disappearance at Oare. I did get to ask if she has ideas for the next book, yes there will be another one and also one after that as well so we have a lot to look forward to.
It would be really great if the option for TV develops as we could be seeing Whitstable on the tele next year! I am sure Julie will be floating about in the back ground somewhere though, just keeping a check on things.
I was given a copy of this book by Little Brown Book Group so that will be given to the winner of the competition I ran, Julie picked the winner today, signed the book and Dominic King will be revealing the winner on his show on Monday, BBC radio Kent.
I will be posting my review tomorrow but I can say it was brilliant and I never imagined it ending the way it did!
I am sure Julie will still be celebrating and good job to as she really deserves the success of the 5th book in the Pearl Nolan mysteries.
Have you read the book yet and what did you think? I know some people are a bit scared of writing a review on Amazon for the books they read but even if you just say that you really liked it, that is good enough. You can leave a review here.
Congratulations Julie Wassmer.
