How desperate are you to get the one you love?
When Hannah and Ben meet at a friend’s party, he knows she’s The One. But Hannah’s in an intense relationship with Mark and planning to return to her native Sweden to embark on a teaching career.
Desperate to make Ben fall in love with her, rich spoilt heiress Vanessa sets in motion a devious string of events that ultimately changes the course of four people’s lives indefinitely.
Hannah is the love of Ben’s life, yet Vanessa will stop at nothing to claim the man she is convinced is her destiny.
Because of You is a dark, morally complex and cross-generational story of enduring love, fate and destiny.
WHAT I THOUGHT – This story had me in two minds as it is a story of love lost and what is your destiny. Can you say that you will love someone for ever? Then there is fate, something that can surprise us all especially in the course of true love. I liked the romantic notions in this even though I did get a bit sad when the bit you are waiting for does not happen, well it might do, you will have to read the book to see. Following the lives of the two main characters and their families also the partners they acquired through this story. Nothing significant happened along the way just the usual separations, children, illness and the struggles some people have with life. At some points I just wanted to smash their heads together and say just get on with it, you love one another so get married and be together. This is one long book with parts, I felt like would never end. I kept waiting for something significant to happen and I guess it does eventually.
I did see that this had a psychological twist but I am not sure I would describe it as that, there was a lot going on with some mentally challenged women I would call it or people who will do anything to get the end result they want. Not a thought to anyone they hurt in the process.
A good story if you like reading about people’s lives.
