I have been looking forward to taking my birthday girls here for a few weeks now as it sounds amazing. Who wouldn’t like tea and cake in a castle? Eldest daughter with eldest daughter 40 and 22 it does not seem possible, the years just go by so quick.

Apart from the luxury of eating in a castle, afternoon tea also includes a savoury dish, to begin with, plus you have a choice of four. Two of us had the croissant then Kara had the welsh rarebit. They were really nice with nothing stinted on so plenty of sauce.

The service is amazing with the young girls serving so polite and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them and to be honest for £12 per person this is an absolute bargain. The only thing I could fault is that they use paper napkins where linen would have matched the crisp white tablecloths.

The choice of cakes was amazing so something for everybody’s taste. The scone was fruit with plenty of clotted cream for everyone. Nice Christmas touches and a mini gingerbread man.

What a superb setting, Kara took advantage of having a bit of a photoshoot.

One of the nicest afternoon teas I have ever had as just everything was perfect, I think they are both having super birthdays.

Thank you for a very enjoyable afternoon.
