Our Strawberry Tea was held last Wednesday and what a magnificent day the sun shone down on us, in fact some people got too hot! Talking, laughing and children’s chatter was all you could hear and everybody had a wonderful time. Obviously the theme was Strawberries, we even had some strawberry bunting, hand made by Corinne.
We had some competitions including how many sweets in the jar and that was won by Jackie with a super guess of 350 the answer was 360, I did check no one cheated and looked up the answers lol
The calories in the cake was a bit harder but in the end it was won by little Jade age 2 with a guess of 4,500 the answer was 4,260 and she won a pair of strawberry tights.
There were so many strawberry themed cakes that we could not eat them all so we shared them out to the businesses that had donated items for the raffle.
The raffle raised £18 and we had donations from Emma’s Hairdressers in Canterbury Road, the co-op chemist, corner shop and spar all in Blackbull Road, Folkestone, Kent. UK
We had a stall of all things strawberry, it is surprising what you can find once you start looking, Ebay was very useful. There was a bring and buy stall and for the children we had a sweet stall and strawberry ice lollies that they could get for 5p and 10p.
Altogether we raised £100.01 and were all pretty pleased with that as there wasn’t a lot that could attend on the day.
