It was with great pleasure that I went to the first read through of Sasha’s new play called DEFECTS last week. With just the five characters of Kip, Worm, Hestia, Mr Young and PC Chapman I felt a lot happened during the one and half hours it ran for, it kept you listening as you didn’t want to miss anything.

During the three scenes I felt that it all ran smoothly and weaved in together like it was all so natural. I had not been to a read through before so I was really impressed how professional it all was and you really would never have thought it was a first time!

A very dry performance that got many laughs from the audience, in fact I counted thirty-five laughs which I thought was a lot for the short time it ran. With limited stage direction I feel that this would be ideal for a small venue.

Well done to Sasha Brooman who is a member of the local writing group in Folkestone called Write By The Sea.
