Holidays all over, let’s get back to writing. I was looking forward to this but my mind and body obviously did not feel the same, I have spent the day flaffing about not really accomplishing anything apart from being on social media. It is sort of work isn’t it?
I have also been thinking about my three favourite books I read in 2015, very hard as some where so good. But these are the three I picked.
Next of Kin by Sue Welfare
Girl Number One by Jane Holland
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
This is a very big change as to what I would of picked a couple of years ago as then it would of been all romance novels, I am so pleased that I followed advice and started to read anything and everything. This is helped by authors and publishers sending books to review, yes it is hard sometimes to get into a book but I have also learnt to persevere as books can change very quickly. So next time someone recommends a book don’t dismiss it without giving it a go.
I also thought about what my three best purchases were during last year, now that was a bit harder as you tend to forget and I obviously don’t blog about everything I buy but in the end I picked.
My new shower, how did I manage for so long without it.
My new bed and the brilliant amount of storage when you lift it up.
My swinging chair in the garden, so wonderful to just lay on it and read, roll on summer.
Good memories of 2015 includes so many there is no way I could pick three but one of the best times are the monthly lunch dates with my friends. Many different restaurants tried, birthdays celebrated and always a good laugh with the best friends ever.
As I go into 2016 very slowly I might add there are lots of things to look forward to like traveling with grandchildren, holidays with friends and seeing new places here and abroad. Reading more books, writing more and also doing a bit of travel writing from my journeys.
I have a list of new plants I wish to get for the garden, I will try to turn the grass into soft spreading flowers and herbs, therefore making it a bit easier to manage. Fruit trees in pots are also on the agenda and more vegetable growing in pots so as the slugs cannot get them.
The only large purchase will be a new TV for the bedroom, that will be when I work out what sort I need as there appears to be so much choice I didn’t know if I was coming or going, any tips greatly received. I may also get a new Apple computer for my desk as I do really love the Apple programs and use my iPad and iPhone constantly but that won’t be until after the summer.
So, sad that another year is over and will be another year older but lots of good things to look forward to.
Such a simple picture but so lovely I thought I would try to paint it…….no, I am not showing you as I would have to empty the bin! Stay positive I tell myself. xx
