How many people write letters these days? Can you remember when as a child you could not wait to start getting some mail, do you think the children of today think that way about an email? Does not seem the same to us and I think emails start popping up in a child’s first account as soon as it goes live, which will just be advertising. I think writing letters should be made compulsory in school as when everything is completed on a computer when they then get a job and have to actually write something their writing is atrocious bit like a doctors. Some things like a sympathy letter have to be written by hand so having the skills to know how it is set out and knowing the correct way to write things needs to be learnt. You can get so many lovely cards and letter writing sets these days and they are not expensive at all, I think the Nan’s and Grandad’s of today would love a little note from their grandchildren and it is something to keep and cherish.

I had to drop my granddaughter at the horse yard yesterday morning so I put my alarm on as she does not like to be late. I awoke to her ringing me and asking where I was! Pulling on Jeans and jumper I flew out the door, after picking her up and on our way she asked me why I was late? I told her it was the phones fault as I had set my alarm, she then picked up the phone saying nan the alarm always works, I was voicing my innocence. Looking at me with a rather exasperated look on her face she informed me that I had set it for Wednesday! (Yesterday was Tuesday) I remained silent. Lol

Why do we make such silly mistakes as we get older? Do we all have a bit of dementia in us and it just gets worse in some people? I never realise I have done something stupid until it is pointed out to me, I would just carry on in my own little world. Your as young as you feel, well, I do not feel young anymore but I refuse to be called a Granny. That really does sound old to me, what sounds old for you?

My daughter is going for her first scan today so hopefully we will know a clearer date as to when the baby is due, November seems to be looming up very quick. I have even started to get the Christmas presents as it will be a busy December with a new baby and a little one only 18 months and as she has to have a Caesarian she will need all the help she can get. xx

Are you all having a good half term those of you in UK, what have you been up to? x

I had the opposite problem to your alarm clock issue – as you have mentioned half term, that means that we don’t have to get up early as I work in a school, however hubby still has to go to work 🙁 Anyway, he decided to set the alarm after he had gone to work, just in case I overslept..! He was not popular. Love the bit about letter writing – do you remember when we used to have penpals? Sometimes in other countries and how cool that was? 🙂

What do you think?
