HOW TO DISAPPEAR BY GILLIAN McALLISTER – BOOK REVIEW

PUBLISHED BY PENGUIN ON 9th JULY 2020

You can run, you can hide, but can you disappear for good?

Lauren’s daughter Zara witnessed a terrible crime. But speaking up comes with a price, and when Zara’s identity is revealed online, it puts a target on her back.

The only choice is to disappear.

From their family, their friends, even from Lauren’s husband.

No goodbyes. Just new names, new home, new lives.

One mistake – a text, an Instagram like – could bring their old lives crashing into the new.

As Lauren will learn, disappearing is easy.

Staying hidden is much harder . . .

WHAT DID I THINK

This was excellent, well written and with that grip that makes you read the next chapter straight away. Loved the twists and false impressions that kept you so intrigued to know the outcome. And what an outcome, I was shocked but a brilliant piece of writing. I have not read any of this authors books so I will be looking out for her next one.

Witness protection stories are always good as they are a bit different, you cannot write about all that they do to protect the person as it’s all a secret. I loved the tension and how you could really feel it through the writing. Would they survive and where would they have to go to hide?

Brilliant story and one I would really recommend
