We popped in here last week as I was curious as to what the new owners had done during the renovations. There is just the one bar, not that big but I am thinking it is just for the hotel visitors mainly. The design is the rustic look with lights on leads that is very popular now, not sure that I am a fan as it just looks a bit messy to me. The room felt nice though and could have chilled here for a few drinks.
They do a few cocktails and the barman knew how to make them and was very apologetic that they did not have some of the alcohol needed for many of them. I believe he said Friday was two for ten pounds so that is always good. Bella Vita appears to have the monopoly on that as they do two for ten all day every day!
You may remember this used to be The Meze place who have the big blue bus down the harbour Arm. These new people who I have not met yet are renovating the restaurant so it will be interesting to see what their theme will be as there are many restaurants in Folkestone now.
It was good to see a selection of gins as that is still the most popular drink at the moment it seems, I have to admit you cannot beat a pink gin and lemonade.
Kent Creatives hold their monthly meetings here on the last Friday of the month, all are welcome to pop along.
All in all a nice little bar to pop in for a drink on your way to The Leas Cliff Hall or the local restaurants.
