What a super selection of history here at the newly located Fishing Heritage and History Museum. This building used to be Ovenden’s Blacksmiths Workshop so it has been turned into a wonderful historic assembly of things from our past. I was totally amazed at the amount of things that are on show here.

From postcards to learning about the knots to even the old radio’s.

It is open every day from 10.30 until 4.00 so make sure you have a wander round and take the children or grandchildren as I am sure they will learn something here.

Nice tribute to a Folkestone institution. So pleased to see this reopening again in a “new” location. After all, the fishing industry has been the heartbeat of the town for centuries. The enthusiasm and knowledge of the men that run it is an inspiration.
