He wasn’t always a killer. At first, he just wanted to talk.

D.C. Charlie Stafford has an odd case on her hands. And it may be her toughest one yet.

A burglar who isn’t interested in valuables, the subject of Operation Greystream is a strange but smooth operator. In the dead of the night, gloved and masked, he visits the elderly. He doesn’t hurt them and, if they beg, he won’t take anything of real value. All he wants is a conversation… and they’re powerless to refuse him.

But then 87-year-old Florence Briarly is found by her friend, cold to the touch and neatly, too neatly, tucked into bed. And Charlie realises this case has taken a sinister, urgent turn. Now, this stealthy burglar has had a taste of murder, it’s only a matter of time until he craves it again…

Sarah Flint is the author of the best-selling ‘DC Charlotte Stafford’ series, her first novel ‘Mummy’s Favourite’ having reached the top ten on Amazon UK, Australia and Canada. Her books are now available throughout Europe.

Sarah has been based in South London all her life and served 35 years in the Metropolitan Police, working in pro-active roles dealing with serious violent crime and the victims and perpetrators of such violence. She retired 18 months ago and now writes full time. Her books are based in the area in which she worked and have been described as ‘gritty and authentic.’

She was inspired to write at the age of 43 by her older sister and she has never looked back. Now living with her partner in Berkshire, she has three grown-up daughters but regularly returns to her old stomping ground to refresh her memories and get inspiration for new stories.

Her book titles so far are; ‘Mummy’s Favourite’ – August 2016, ‘The Trophy Taker’ – April 2017 and ‘Liar Liar’ – December 2017. Her fourth book ‘Broken Dolls’ is due to be published in August 2018 and promises to be both hard-hitting and surprising.
She has recently signed up to a further 3 books with her publishers Aria.

WHAT DID I THINK?

I wish I had read all of the books in this series as they do seem good mild crime stories which are good after reading the gory crime books. These can be read as a stand-alone or in any order so that is good. The characters all fit well together with the pace being slower than a hectic gory crime story. I even guessed some parts, well it tells you actually who did it but there are still some surprises. I like the way this author writes as it is slower and nicer than many current crime books.
