A few days away always refreshes you and when going with a friend you know you are guaranteed a good time and that is certainly what we had last week. I do love Brighton so sitting here looking out to sea in the sunshine, yes it was lovely and sunny.  We had a drink and jacket potato while we rested our legs, not that we did that much walking.

Considering we were in the prime position for the beachfront bars this was very good value, jacket potato £5 and a cider £2.50 You cannot complain about that. We visited a few shops in the high street and then after another break which involved a cocktail (Pornstar) we went to the famous lanes and walked around. I liked this outside area of the pub with the plants and the twinkling lights, very effective.

The Ivy restaurant in London is very popular with stars so I was surprised to see one in Brighton, how have I never noticed this before? That flower display was amazing, definitely encouraging people to have a pic done and pop in for a drink. I loved the way the windows were made to look old but even though they were small you could still open them. A lot of money has obviously gone into renovating this lovely building.

We then decided to chill out with a gin in Weatherspoons, these pubs are in every town and the place to go for value prices. We both had a pink gin fizz, delicious, the strawberries taste great after being soaked in gin. I then had a Bubblegin, OMG it is the best I have ever tasted, I will be buying the ingredients when I get home so I can make it myself. I have checked out where I can get them for good prices.

So a very good few days, we also checked out Rottingdean, relaxed, watched films and talked about a load of rubbish after a few glasses of wine. All just what you need to recharge your batteries ready for the Autumn. Thank you Lynda x.

We stayed at Lynda’s friend’s house which is in Peacehaven just outside Brighton, I loved the squirrel that appears to live in the garden, he was looking in the window to see what was going on.

Where do you go for short breaks?
