20140409-082113 pm.jpg How relatively easy it used to be to make a celebration cake for your kids or family. Nice plain or chocolate sponge and some butter cream spread over it, maybe sprinkles if your lucky. Everybody loved the cakes and the candles pushed in the top.

20140409-082938 pm.jpg I certainly do not think my skills run to these as much as I love Lego can you imagine how long it would take making something like this? Where is it all going to end, we have children’s parties that cost more than a trip to the cinema and that’s not cheap now either. Are our children growing up with such big expectations of a birthday party that for some they just cannot afford it. Are we giving the bullies ammunition to pick on the children that can’t participate in these extravagant birthday celebrations? The little girls first birthday cake is not something the child will remember or even eat much of so are we just doing it for the effect and our own peer pressure?

20140409-084107 pm.jpg How long would this take to make and at what cost, will the child love you anymore? I think not, they just want a bit of birthday cake to eat.

20140409-084223 pm.jpg How about a bunch of flowers, I would rather have the real thing and a nice chocolate cake, what about you? Happy Birthday x
