As the garden centre in Folkestone shut down a couple of years ago I have been going to the one that is on the way to Canterbury, which is really nice. This morning I went with Billie to drop my granddaughter off at The Alkham Valley garden centre and tea rooms, Jade works in the tea rooms. They have got a great selection of just about everything and the one thing that makes this stand out as probably the best garden centre I have been in is that the staff are so friendly in every department.
I love the display with the crates it looks so good yet also so simple to do, I don’t think I have the knack though as I tried in my garden and it’s not looking so good.
The amount of variety there is amazing, I wanted a bit of colour in my pots so I got pansies. There were no pink ones, do they not do pink pansies?
I could have spent hours walking round there, I love my pink heart shrub.
What ever you need you will find it here. I could not believe how much variety in everything they have, it makes choosing not a quick thing. Next time I will get a Fuchsia and some more Pansies.
My bargain was the £1.50 bulbs which will still grow this year, just a bit later in the season. The colours are so nice, my garden is looking a bit green at the moment so definitely need some pink in there that will come back every year.
After all that we had to go and have a coffee and then we saw the cream tea, I am afraid I did not get a photo as we ate it too quick! But I can tell you I will be going back there, prices really good so that’s even better.
Oh! they also have Pimms and wine! That stilton and mushroom tart sounds good. I cannot wait to go again.
Tonight my new hanging decoration will be changing colours and sparkling by my window. Those animals are so cute. I have decided that this year for my birthday I am going to ask for one of these.
Isn’t it so cute? I love it, roll on June all donations greatly received to go towards this! LOL. You will then find me in my garden even more, I may become a recluse.
Have a great bank holiday weekend, now you know where to go to sort your garden out.
