I do love receiving a present and this is a super journal, there is nothing more satisfying than writing in a new book, can you remember from school at the beginning of term when we all got new books, you wrote so neat and tidy on that first page then using different colour pens to highlight titles, oh the memories! The best bit is I am still like it, I cannot wait until the first of January so I can fill in my new diary. I did use the on-line one a couple of years ago but it’s just not the same. I love writing and will often buy a new notebook just so I can start a new story or poem, I think I am a little bit addicted but let’s face it, you can never have too many notebooks, that’s the law.

Anyway back to this wonderful accountability journal the first thing I realised was that it had a hard cover so it was not going to get bent or tatty when it’s in your bag, I do try to always buy hard back notebooks now as they really do last longer. Nice deep green colour that won’t show any marks.

We have a nice welcome front page telling you about the journal and that it was designed by James Greaney.

The quick start guide is next where it tells you about signing up to the accountability website. This journal is very different but actually a very simple brilliant idea. We all have goals, jobs, lists and things we want to achieve. Well this will help you by taking it all one step at a time which is the best way to achieve your best work.

You first think of a goal you would like to achieve over the next twelve months.

Then the reason it is important or why you want to achieve this goal.

Then the year is broken down into quarters so you then put down the milestones that helped you on the way to achieving your goal.

That is all very simple but what it does is keep you on track and you can watch this by making sure you are getting the right results at your milestones.

Then you sign your accountability contract while also putting down what your reward will be for making your goal, make sure it’s something good.

It also keeps you on track every single day as you have to do the three things you write down every day to make sure you succeed.

Each week you have micro goals which can be anything but if it is linked to your main goal then this will keep you on track even more.

Each day you will have goals and tasks and then a time planner so you are using your time the best way possible and not wasting a minute of your day.

You follow this everyday for a month then you discover what lessons you have learnt, what are you grateful for and then how many days you actually worked towards your micro goals and your main goal.

I am really impressed with this journal as it will keep you focussed on not only the big goal for that year but what you need to do each day to get where you want to be at the end of each week.

I was sent this to review and can honestly say I thought this was a very good idea, in fact I am going to give this to my granddaughter to see if it will help keep her on track with her own goals over the year. Will follow this up with another post about how she gets on.

Looks great. I know that writers would rather be writing than “wasting” their time with extraneous and boring matters like goal setting, but these are critical to maintaining control over your work and moving forward with it.

What do you think?
