ANSTEY HARRIS AUTHOR

Last week I met Anstey Harris before she gave an author talk at Folkestone library, which I must say was really well attended for a freezing morning. Anstey is another of our local authors from Deal just along the coast, I like Deal it’s a nice little seaside place, also being where we go camping most summers.

Anstey has written about seven books but only this one has been published, the others were all practise she says. Then came The Truths and Triumphs of Grace Atherton, with it getting great reviews, also taking off not only here but in Europe as well she has certainly got everyone talking about this book.

As I read most stories from publishers they tend to all be on my Kindle so occasionally I miss things as I discovered here. At the back of the book is a music list with the character’s having a piece of classical music matched to them, Grace’s being the Libertango which Anstey listened to as she was writing.

I also discovered how she knew so much about stringed instruments as the book is very detailed in places, (A bit like a music lesson) her husband is the expert. I also liked the fact that she was looking out of her study window and saw a man playing the cello so as she wrote some scenes it came from watching him and his actions.

It all sounds so magical and with the book getting five-star reviews it is not surprising and definitely worth waiting for. Really looking forward to what comes next from Anstey.

I have already reviewed this book here.
